Crowns

A dental crown is a permanent "cap", fitted over a damaged tooth or implant post.
They are cemented in place, fully replacing the exposed, visible portion of a tooth above
the gum line. Crowns can improve the strength, functionality, alignment and appearance
of the natural teeth they replace.
The most durable crowns are made from gold or metal alloys, often with a porcelain jacket cosmetically matched to the surrounding teeth. For an even better resemblence to natural teeth, all-ceramic crowns can be fabricated from a variety of materials. Ceramics are most often used on front teeth where appearance takes priority over strength and longevity. |
